What Led Me Here

Hello Friends

If you'll allow me, I'd love to share a little of the heart behind everything I create.

Life has a way of changing our plans. Sometimes the path we expected takes an unexpected turn, and we're invited to trust God in ways we never imagined. That's where my journey began.

After retiring earlier than I had planned, I found myself asking, "Lord, what now?" The answer came quietly, one handmade creation at a time. My faith has always been the light that guides me. Through every season, God has shown me that even the smallest act of kindness can make a lasting difference. A thoughtful gift. A word of encouragement. A reminder that someone is praying for you. These simple moments have the power to kindle hope when it's needed most.

There is another piece of my story that I hold especially close to my heart.

Years ago, when I was raising my son Ryan on my own, money was often tight. I wanted birthdays and holidays to be special, so together we created something we called "Service Gifts." Armed with construction paper, markers, and a little imagination, we made colorful certificates for one another. Ryan would promise to wash my car or help with chores, and I would give him coupons for his favorite homemade dessert, a special outing, or time spent doing something he loved.

What amazed me was that, even at six or seven years old, those simple handmade promises often meant more to him than the store-bought gifts. To this day, he still remembers those colorful service gifts, even though many of the toys from those years have long been forgotten.

Looking back, I realize that those moments planted a seed in my heart. They taught me something I've never forgotten: the most meaningful gifts aren't always the most expensive—they're the ones that make us feel loved, appreciated, and remembered.

Without realizing it, I think Kindled by Faith began around our kitchen table all those years ago. What began years ago as a simple way to make meaningful memories with my son has, by God's grace, grown into a calling to encourage others through gifts made with purpose, prayer, and love. When I am fortunate enough to witness the receiver open something I've made, their expression and smile makes my heart sing!

When you choose something from Kindled by Faith, you're not simply purchasing a handmade gift. You're sharing encouragement. You're celebrating someone who has touched your life. You're giving a tangible reminder that kindness matters, faith gives hope, and love is worth sharing.

My prayer is that every creation leaving my hands carries a little light into someone else's life. If even one person feels encouraged, comforted, or reminded of God's love because of something I've made, then I know I've fulfilled the purpose He placed on my heart.
